Halloween 2012

Welp, after 82 days of sun this summer, our family made our way back to Spooner Farms
this year to find our Halloween Pumpkins in the rain!
It was just a perfect morning to wake up to the sound and smell of fresh rain,
put a crockpot on the counter with chicken & bean chili,
layered on the warm clothes and head out to the farm.
When we got home, we enjoyed some of that chili but didn't get to get to the carving until
the following day.
This year, like last, Kellen was able to pick out his own pumpkin.  The first one he touched...or tried to pick up in this case, was his!  He sure did have his eye on the prize...rain or shine!

Brayden's first Halloween with us this year, he had fun too.
When he asked if he could have any pumpkin out there, we said,
"Of course! You can have any one that you can carry!"
Little did we know, that started the challenge of finding the BIGGEST one out there!!
Look at the size comparison!

Just some fun poses!

During...

After...

Happy Halloween from my family to yours...
BOOOOO!!

2nd Anniversary

For our 2nd anniversary celebration, celebrated a few weeks later, Jason made reservations at
P.F. Chang's Restaurant in Seattle.
The lettuce wraps were highly recommended by a few good friends, however,
my favorite part of the "dinner for two" we ordered, was definately
the Banana Spring Rolls for dessert!....
oh!, and the handsome man who I was proud to call my date.
After many years of friendship,
the past 2 years being married to him have been wonderfully
new and exciting and I'm thankful to be married to such an incredible man.

Hide & Seek

So every once in a while, Kellen will get very quiet & it's sometimes hard to find him.....
even in our little place.
But I know he couldn't have traveled far.
Just a second ago, I went out to check on him..eventually I find him in the corner, between our
couch and leaning shelf, with a pen and pad of paper just doodlin' away.
It's funny because when I snuck away to get the camera, return quietly & turn it on to try to
sneak a pic....
the light from the camera catches his attention at the very last second and I end
up getting this "oh so priceless" picture!
He is such his mother's "photogenic" son!
Love you Kellen!

Welcome Baby Cole!!

Welcome to the world baby Cole!
Aunt Tera & Kyle welcomed a beautiful boy June 6th, 2012.
I can't wait to see our children grow up together and make many memories together.
I love that we have a growing family!!
It only gets better...

Until next season...

What a season!
Thank you to everyone that was able to come and watch him play.
Hopefully there will be many more sport seasons ahead of us!

Oops!

"Yes Honey! I promise to blog all the time!"
3 months later....
Life happens and I keep meaning to blog so I'm sorry for all those
who keep checkin and nothing new pops up.
Here is a post about our life since the last one...
Enjoy!

Mother's Day 2012
We took a drive up towards Mt Rainier & found this
beautiful spot and parked it for the day.
Got to enjoy the sun, water & most importantly...
my boys! I consider myself one lucky mom!

Easter Sunday

When we woke up, we saw that the Easter Bunny came!  He left his foot prints
on our couch and his half eaten carrot. The boys found their baskets and dove right into the candy.
We went to church, enjoyed a delicious
dinner prepared by Erin and her family & the kids hunted for eggs!
Couldn't have asked for better way to celebrate.

Oh yeah....and Erin did some amazing "planking!"

Brayden turned 8!!

He had a friend and his 2 cousins over for swimming, mini pizza's and movies!

Kellen's 1st Haircut

Before....

After....
What a cutie!!!

Moved Brayden In

When Brayden came to visit for Christmas,
he actually stayed and is now living with us.
 So Kellen's room,
(and also the computer room and where Brayden slept when he came to visit)
was turned into
 "the boys' room."
Jason and I decided to get rid of the bunk bed, move the computer into our room,
get Brayden a twin bed and move the room around a little bit.  Got them a little shelf
to put their books on and store some toys...and to top it off....
fish!!
This was actually a surprise for Brayden after a weekend with his grandparents.
He loved coming HOME to this!  He loved it!

(RIP "Swimmy & Nacho)

The Reptile Man came to Brayden's school so of course, we had to go and take the kids!
We invited Cait & Ashee too!
He had some really cool reptiles to show like turtles, lizards and snakes!
I'm blogging about this because, not only was it cool to have seen some of those things up close....
But 'Lil Ashee was PEED on by the turtle!!!
And that's all we heard about all the way home...
"Turtle peed on me!"
LOL

Look at Ashee go..I think this is when "IT" happened!!

Kellen...

I can't believe how fast you're growing!
Here are some new things going on...
You are currently fighting some type of skin virus which I think is chicken pox.
Dr Hautala says it's "hand, foot and mouth" virus...but I still beg to differ.
Words you can say:
Mommy
Daddy
Ball
Balloon...which is really purnounced "ballee" but you can point one out a mile away.
Choo Choo
Owie
Shoe
Bubby
DziaDzia
and your favorite right now...
Rio!
You love the movie Rio and can pick it out of all the DVD's we have.
You still love bathtime, all foods (except fish...and maybe watermelon), coloring, reading, your backpack buddy "Cocoa," cartoons in the morning, you looove toy cars/trucks and make motor sounds while playingwith them, balls, balloons, Cait & Ashee, brother Brayden, and
hugs & kisses.

Mommy went through a rough time a few weeks ago but it made me appreciate and love you
more than ever
I don't know what I did to deserve such a beautiful boy but I thank God everyday that he gave me you!
I love you so very much and love watching you grow & learn every day.
xoxo

While I'm in here blogging, I put his favorite movie on and snapped this pic.
No, I didn't pose him, he really loves this movie and even cuddles with the movie case.

Brayden
Having Brayden here has been quite the adjustment...but super fun!
You are in the 2nd grade at a local elementary school.
You are currently working on telling time, money, reading, and writing....
oh yeah, and being "self manager" at school. (your so close)
You are playing baseball with the Yankees.  Daddy helps coach the team.
You are quite the hitter!
At one of your games, you hit a double...the only person on the team to do that!
Dad lost your brand new eye black we bought you so you wear my make-up under your eyes to substitute.
You like warm towels after showers and sitting by the heater to warm up.
Before dinner, we always say what our favorite part of the day was, and yours is always something that hasn't happened yet but what you know you're going to do later so we make you pick another one...
You love snuggling with us watching movies and wrestling with Dad.
Brayden, having you here with us makes our family complete.
We enjoy watching you grow & learn and also love teaching you new things.
We love you very much.
xoxo

"Whaaaamp whaamp whamp whamp whamp"

I remember when my dad took Jon & me to Monster Trucks @ the Tacoma Dome
every year!!  It was a past time I will never forget.  Although they didn't have the big robot dragon at the end that spit fire, it was still a fun night to share with my boys!!
