"Whaaaamp whaamp whamp whamp whamp"

I remember when my dad took Jon & me to Monster Trucks @ the Tacoma Dome
every year!!  It was a past time I will never forget.  Although they didn't have the big robot dragon at the end that spit fire, it was still a fun night to share with my boys!!

January 5th, 2011

On Kellen's actual birthday, we took him to the
Rainforest Cafe.
We sat by the monkeys, which he loved, and every time they
would start talking and moving, he would stop whatever he was
doing to just stare at them in aw.
Brayden kept asking if they were the actual monkeys from
"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" since we watched that movie the night before! lol
The staff there sang "Happy Birthday" to him and he enjoyed his very own {1st} ice cream sunday!
{Mom enjoyed it too!!}

We then went home and later that night after dinner, he was able to
enjoy a lemon flavored cupcake after being sung to again!
His birthday party was enjoyed the following Saturday January 7th by family.
We couldn't of asked for a better celebration.  Kellen received so many wonderful
gifts, however, the best gift of all, was the presence of all who were able to join him on his special day.
I spent most of Friday night baking and decorating his "Lil Bear" cake and I will tell you this,
9 hrs spent in labor with Kellen 1 year ago,
made all the 9 hours making this cake well worth it!
Enjoy the pics of his special day....

We played "pin the candle on the cupcake"

Kellen received many thoughtful gifts

Kellen's 1st birthday cake

Dzia Dzia had a birthday the following day so right after singing to Kellen,
we surprised the group & Dzia Dzia by singing to him & giving him his very own cupcake!
Kellen enjoyed his cake too!
And yes, I purposely chose chocolate 'cause it looks messier for
the pictures!

Kellen,
Mommy & Daddy are so in love.  What a year it has been.
We would have never thought we could get so lucky to have a little boy like you.
You have been such an angel to raise and we can only imagine it getting better as the years go by.
You light up our lives and we love seeing that smile on your face,
because it shows us too, that we light up yours.
Happy 1st Birthday Kellen.
xoxo
