Happy Halloween

Kellen's 1st Halloween!!
Well, he really dressed up last year also but  didn't know it.
Yep, he was our lil pumpkin belly which won us "best costume" at Ian & Sandy's Halloween Party... but this year, he was our little Monkey.
It was a toss up between that or a bear.
{our 2 favorite nick names for him}
We did not go Trick -or-Treating all night around the neighborhood though.
Just decided for picture purposes to go to Cocia Erin & Uncle Ashley's before they
went to Tiffany's as they do every year.  Then off to Babcia & Dzia Dzia's house.
Dzia Dzia was up at work but Cocia Hana & "almost Uncle" Irish were there.
We were glad they were there to see him & Cocia Hana was even dressed up!
Hopefully next year,
Jason & I can take Kellen out with Erin, Ash, Caitlyn & Ashee
and start our own tradition.
We had so much fun seeing him dive in the candy bowl, only to
then give those pieces he picked to Mom & Dad!
Maybe we should have went out all night with him!
Happy Halloween!

Let the carving begin

We decided to forgo Sandy & Ian's 4th annual Halloween party this year & stay at home
and do some family pumpkin carving.  Jason got pretty creative with his 2 pumpkins.
{go Hawks & Steelers}
And I had fun watching how excited he was as they were turning out.
I had the honor to do Kellen's 1st pumpkin as well as my own...BOO.
We also like to decorate our door for all the little Trick-or-Treaters!
The little kids all loved it and said our place was the best place
they've been to all night!

My First Pumpkin

Kellen's 1st pumpkin search!
We heard wonderful things about Spooner Farms in Orting
so we knew we had to go for Kellen's first pumpkin.
First, I have to start by saying, Jason's phone was acting up so his GPS wasn't working so he called Verizon and had them try to fix it all while I'm driving towards that area.
We knew how to get to Orting so I just kept driving down 167, then to 410, got off of the
Orting exit and drove a few minutes all the meanwhile mad at Jason 'cause his phone is still not working and we need to get to the pumpkin patch soon!
I pulled over and called Sandra, the ARNP I work for, who got on her computer and helped talk us through this tough time Jason & I were bickering about.  She told us to stay on the road we were on and we should run into it.  After I hung up the phone with her, we pulled back on the road and drove a few more feet (literally) and it was there on our right!!  Needless to say, we laughed and I couldn't be mad at his phone anymore.
So when we got there, we knew we were going to let Kellen pick out
his own pumpkin.  We put him down on the ground, let him crawl around and the
first pumpkin he went to touch was his.
We had a blast & will definately be going back next year.
Enjoy some memorable pics of our first pumpkin patch outing as a family.

Kellen on the search.

The ONE!

1 on 1 bonding time with his new pumpkin in the wheelbarrow!
Yummy!!

Visiting the animals.  Felt just like Grandpa's house.

Until next year....

Bath Time

Kellen LOVES bath time!!
Whenever he hears us drawing his bath,
no matter where he is at in our place,
he'll come crawling towards the bathroom at lightning speed.
He loves to grab his washcloth and suck the water from it or spin it around in the water.
"Splish Splash" is one of his favs we sing for his bath time pleasure
& sure enought, with his hands, he splashes away in the water.
He also loves to lean forward to suck up the water from the tub.
He sometimes get a little too much in his mouth
but he just laughs at himself & carries about in his 3inch Water Wonderland.
When it's time to drain, he loves to watch the water twirl around the drain & tries to
grab it with his fingers.
Grandma Thompson got him his little frog robe
so he gets to hang out in that for a while before diaper & PJ's.
Bath time is for sure one of our favorites!

9 Months

You are 9 Months Old!
You have a total of 5 teeth now!
You still teeth like a champ, although
you've been waking up in the middle of the night, we're sure it's
because they bother you a little bit.
You started to shake your body to music.
Your favorite song right now I'm sure is
"You put the lime in the coconut"
When I sing that song & clap my hands,
You smile, laugh, clap your hands and do your little jig while sitting.
{While Daddy is in the background dancing along too}
Right now you love to crawl up to Mommy or Daddy
and pull yourself up on our legs, wanting to be picked up.
You are saying the sounds "mamama" "dadadada" & "babababa"
{we like to think it's Mama, Dada, & Babi (for Babcia}
You started eating rice crackers/puffs for snack & yogert melts for your after dinner dessert.
Daddy asked that I put in here that you recently started throwing little fits.
Whether it's us trying to put a diaper on "double team" style
or putting on your PJ's. You try to roll over on your hands and knees
and when we try to roll you back over, you throw your head back, shaking it like
you're telling us no, you shake your hands all over the place and whine, and
crawl away from us the fasted I've seen you move
 but
all we can do is smile.
It really is the cutest thing!
And you started leaning in for kisses when Mommy & Daddy ask for one.
You are getting to be quite the little man with a personality as big as the moon!
We love to watch you grow & learn new things everyday.
You still teach me a lot & I'm glad that you're my little boy!
Love you Kellen Dean!
XOXO

First Kiss

Today,
Kellen leaned into me & gave me my very first
KISS!
He didn't pucker up of course,
but yes, when I did, & asked him for one,
he actually leaned in for that
"oh so precious"
first kiss.
Can't wait for more!

One Unforgetable Night!!

Jason & I celebrated our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary.
Friday night, we actually popped some bubbly to cheers
our last night of our first year of marraige.
Saturday morning we enjoyed McDonalds and Mamosas
for breakfast.  I went off to get my hair & makeup done while
Jason drove Kellen down to meet his mom & sister in Olympia because
that's who he was staying the night with.
We had dinner reservations for 6pm at the Melting Pot in Tacoma.
It was also my 10 Year High School Reunion
so we made it down to the Old Town Music Society for one unforgetable night!
It was so much fun getting to see people I haven't seen in years, some not since
Grad Night 10 years ago!
Jason & I talked about how we will never be able to have this night over again,
and I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.
When Jason & I got home, we exchanged gifts, enjoyed some champagne
in our wedding flutes, & cut & ate some of our wedding cake.
(It's tradition & good luck to keep the top of your cake & enjoy on your 1st Anniversary)
Here are some pics of our night.
I'm sorry I didn't get pics at the reunion but I was here, there & everywhere,
so we finally just put the camera in the car!
Enjoy!

To many more to come.....
Cheers!
